“The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesnt matters not a jot. The possibility is always there.-- Monica Baldwin, British writer Remember Christmas as a child? There was this sense of anticipation, a knowing of something GOOD coming. I pray that you will sense that same childlike wonder this year. Ann Voskamp wrote a book called The Greatest Gift. My dear friend Sheila Curtis bought it for me and it walks you day by day through the days of December, the gentle and wondrous time of pondering the Christ child come to earth. Ann says that while all of creation began with the pronouncement Let there be… you and I were made by a huddle of hearts. God said Let US make man in our own image. Think about that for a minute. Ann says that it was the affection of God that made all of His children. She urges us to be ravished by His love .The answer to deep anxiety is the deep adoration of God. And the greatest gift that we can give to God is to let his love make us glad! May we return to that childlike wonder and breathe in the beauty of this season. May we rejoice and cherish the moments and let Him make us glad. Psalm 5:11 New International Version (NIV) 11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
