The morons at Safecast sent one of their goons to Half Moon beach - TopicsExpress

The morons at Safecast sent one of their goons to Half Moon beach where he proceeded to lay his Inspector Plus Gieger counter right on the sand, contaminating the detection surface of the device, then seeming to test some dark colored, mysterious black dust (sound familiar?) on the beach and he announces that the substance is naturally occurring Radium and Radon. FIRST, if his device (which he chose to conceal during the actual test can tell him exactly which radionuclides are present in a few seconds on the beach, it must be a pretty nifty device and he must have JUST INVENTED IT. I am unaware of any handheld device that can separate those signatures within seconds away from a computer. But MAYBE it exists. Lets give said freako the benefit of the doubt. There are a couple of other problems with his video. Radium does NOT occur naturally in the abscence of URANIUM. Radium occurs naturally bound to URANIUM in several types of mineral deposits and it MUST BE SEPARATED from Uranium to exist on its own. Radon does not naturally release in quantities large enough to be detected in beach sand. Radon usually is released by mining, in the form of a gas, and frequently is found in precipitation as a result of fracking and mining operations. It disappears rapidly as a sample dries. The sand he was testing was fairly dry. But lets forget that said freak doesnt have the slightest idea what hes doing, other than helping Safecast convince people theyre a non-profit citizen science group when in fact they announced in their very first PAID FOR PR PIECE that they are FOR PROFIT, and lets remember that in that PR piece, Safecast tried to DEBUNK claims by Tepco itself that outdoor radiation at the Fukushima Diachi llant was high. Arnie Gunderson has a video regarding the same video the Safecast freak was trying to debunk. In this video, Gunderson stands on a different beach WITHOUT a Gieger counter, and claims that the Gieger video by the Environmental reporter was paid for, and he insinuates plainly, that it was manipulated by the manufacturer of the Gieger counter. I have two questions. 1) Who is paying Safecast to try to debunk videos in which California beaches are shown to have high radiation? 2) When will the manufacturer sue Arnie Gunderson for defamation. The radiation on that beach was confirmed by the County Inspector, so the Gieger manufacturer didnt have to manipulate anything. Radium is an even BIGGER concern than Ceseum. One gram of Radium (a MINUSCULE AMOUNT) DEFINES THE CURIE. I also heard that of Californians want to find radiation, they should go to the wastewater treatment plants and it is reported to be very high there. If thats the case, it means youre already pissing it and passing it in fecal matter. That should SCARE YOU INTO PASSING MORE OF IT!
