The much criticised Santubong Cable Car project has received further condemnation, this time from the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) which has not received an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report on the project. A NREB spokesman said the project developer must submit an EIA report and have it approved before the project could proceed. “So far, our office has not received any EIA report from the developer concerned. It’s a normal procedure for all developers to summit their EIA report to NREB so that the board can vet it before the project could be carried out” Earlier in the week a spokesman of the project developer had told The Borneo Post that all necessary plans and proposals for the project had been given the nod by the relevant authorities: “It’s still on.
