The nap didnt happen, SOOO here goes...My thank yous start with all who came out today to help us celebrate 35 years as a shire...huge thanks to the two couples who were my legs and my hands for this revel, Grant and Laura Simmons, and Christopher Todd Ladrach and Crystal Ladrach...A very profound thank you to my friend and Pelican, Duchess Caileen, for the scrolls and prizes for the lysts....Thanks, also to our two marshalls, Sir Max, and Lord William of Kent...a very satisfied thank you to all who baked, cooked, shopped, and worked to make sure we had more food than we knew what to do with...I am snacking on chocolate cake and coffee as I sit here, and have hummus set aside for lunch tomorrow. Todd, the pork chops and roasted corn done on the grill were awesome... Now, to the lost and found items..a black tunic with silver trim, a small wooden goblet, a spoon that was in the goblet. and a beautiful filigreed brooch, which was found on the table nearest the grill... also found, after the deluge of rain, was a black and white dishtowel....I will wash and dry the tunic, and bring it to the next shire meeting...likewise with the dishtowel..I have hand-washed the goblet and spoon. (They looked like they might have been used to eat cake....) It was my honor to be the co-ordinator for this revel. Our next event will be Tournament of the Rose, in April, 2015. In the interim, we have a lot to do as a shire...lets get going!
