The next time you get your blood pressure checked, you may want to consider getting readings done on both arms. A new research study led by Dr. Ido Weinberg, a vascular medicine specialist at the Mass General Fireman Vascular Center within the Institute for Heart, Vascular and Stroke Care, found that a difference of 10 or more points between the blood pressure readings in each arm may indicate a 38% higher risk for experiencing a cardiac event, such as a stroke, heart attack or leg artery disease.
