The normal hemoglobin blood count for a man is in a range of 11 to 17 I was told. When my son reached the emergency room, his count was 4. Gray lips, pale skin, and no feeling in his legs or feet, as the technician reported prior to placing him in the ambulance. Today, from the E.R. to I.C.U. to the G.I. lab, they gave him the nickname: Miracle Man. A nurse said, Usually, when we see someone with a count below 5 we find them in a coma or dead. A miracle indeed. His count now is up to 8.5 after receiving blood. His problem is ULCERS! Bleeding ulcers that had passed blood too quickly through the small intestine. On behalf of myself, my son Nate, and my other two babies, I want to THANK YOU ALL for your kind thoughts, your prayers, and your wishes for his recovery. Now they know the problem, they find the result to recovery. It just a matter of time. We hope soon he will be moved from I.C.U. to a room and begin that process. Again, THANK YOU!!!
