The nut is one of the most important parts of a guitar, because most players spend most of their time in the lower part of the neck. If the nut isnt setup properly, open notes can have weird over tone, or buzzes, first positions chords cant be played in tune, and the instrument will be very uncomfortable to play. This G&Ls factory nut was bone, but the spacing was very tight, and a little uneven, which the owner couldnt help but notice, and struggled with the guitar. I made him a new bone nut with a wider, even spacing. He didnt have to play for more than a few seconds to feel the difference.
