The off-season is a time to develop not only strength, but to regain some of the mobility, symmetry and basic function that the demands of the season may have taken away from you. A great off-season goal is to work towards deficit skater squats x 12 reps each leg. What is great about this exercise is that it requires requisite ankle & hip mobility as well as single leg stability. Training towards this goal will demand you spend time working on tissue quality(1), flexibility(2), mobility(3) in addition to your strength work(7).
