The origin of the separation on church and state was Jeffersons - TopicsExpress

The origin of the separation on church and state was Jeffersons response to a pastor fearing he would lose his right to worship. It was never intended to remove religion from the public square... “Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,’ thus building a wall of separation between Church and State,” Its time we elect and public officials that will push back against the godless minority that desire to impose their belief system on us while they make the fatuous argument that they are protecting us from being influenced by government. First off, they only seem to be anti-christian. Secondly, our present government with its liberal social legislation is anything but christian, and most importantly, I can decide for my self and certainly dont appreciate condescending individuals who think they know better and who, as I said are imposing their belief systems on the public.
