The other day I overheard another individual working out at the gym say that he has seen such great results with his program. Then he went on to say that he cant do the squats they recommend due to his knee injury (from 6 years ago) and that there is no substitution for this exercise. There are a few things wrong with this. Firstly, I assume he bounces and his movements are not very safe (placing a HUGE amount of external force on the knee joint). Secondly, right next to him was the Hammer Strength Leg Press... a WONDERFUL substitution for the barbell back squat. I also wish I could explain to him the benefits of leg extension, I guarantee his knee pain would dissipate in a few weeks training HIT using this exercise alone. So if you are having any issues/pain, please ask me what exercises work. I specialize in helping individuals overcome their tweaks, pains and injuries.
