The other day I set out on a journey in remembrance of my late father Micheal James Cady. Craving his presence, I decided to recreate a solo venture of our traditional Sunday drives. He would take us on endless cruses along winding Minnesota gravel, exploring the unknown wilderness of the Bluff Country and getting us lost in some neighboring county; regardless of the path taken when he called out right or left at random crossings, my dad always seemed to know the most succinct route home when the time came. I envisioned myself jamming out to tunes for endless hours, stretching my left arm out the window, catching the wind in the palm of my hand, exploring new Floridan landscapes, and grabbing a late lunch in some random, yet undiscovered town. Unbeknownst to me upon excursion this would not be the case. In true Miranda fashion the path of my unmediated inclination bore a sign that read DEAD END. Pausing momentarily for possible course correction I decided to proceed regardless of where the road ended, finding utmost humor in the irony of it all, a walking path began. There was possibility beyond that of limitation, striving forward with my day, my road trip turned into a nature walk. Happily I was able to connect my soul to that of the land in which I reside, with complete and total inhibition. There is always opportunity lying just beyond obscurity if you are willing to look at the world with open eyes. These are some photos I collected along the way. Enjoy!
