The paradigm shift for contemporary bands Ive been feeling recently. Punk was real, and because it was real, it sparked sub-genres like twee & new wave. Now called indie pop and electro, these genres are not as boring as they have become. Now, the debate about the death of punk can be raged by those accusations of corporate culture, sonic youth/sell out, multi-tracking (i.e. bands not recorded when playing together) but I think the blame is in watering down the music.
