The passing of a friend is always tough. When it is someone who makes this world a better place just by being in it, then that loss is compounded. Received news today that a truly beautiful soul has reached the end of the road. He touched everyone he encountered, by word, or gesture. After losing my job he wrapped me in his arms and told me he understood as he had gone through the same experience. After our accident another hug and words of comfort. Not to mention he reminded me there are two kind of bikers, those that have gone down & those who will. He talked to me about his accident in Sturgis and gave me encouragement. It was raining when the news came. I would like to think even Heaven was sorry they had to call him home and leave those of us who knew him heart heavy. Yet each of us that knew him are richer for the time we shared, for never did I hear a negative comment pass your lips. So another gentle hug from me to you Rich with a kiss upon the top of your head. I can almost feel you patting my hand and telling me its ok. To your beautiful wife Nancy thank you for sharing him with us. One of the last times we spoke we talked about being a family, a H.O.G. family. This family needs to rejoice in a life well lived, and to be thankful for the extra days we were given with you. Ride free my friend. Your pain has beeen pushed aside and the road is wide open. May the wind be to your back and the sun warm upon your face. Til we ride together again~
