The penultimate over of the innings. Mushfiq summons his most - TopicsExpress

The penultimate over of the innings. Mushfiq summons his most experienced pacer. The lion-hearted Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Why shouldnt he? He is after all the 6 million dollar man. Restricted only by some injuries from being the Greatest Ever Pacer the world has ever seen! First Ball: Shehzad on strike, batting on 100* in a T20. Average peoples common sense would be to look for a yorker. But, the lion hearted Mashrafe is not your average bowler. He is a thinker, always outhinking the batsman just like the Great Hitler out thought all his enemies and lived a peaceful life till 1981 in Israel(Okay, I just made that up. But, I guess, you got the point). So, the lion hearted Mashrafe bowls a brilliant bouncer, which only for the low quality Bangladeshi pitch turned into a half-tracker. Shehzad just swings his bat in hope and somehow manages a 6. Second Ball: The lion hearted Mashrafe onto it again, like a tiger onto a deer. This time he bowls a ball just full enough to get under it and collect a six. BUT, Shehzad is no Miller(What Miller does? If it is in the arc it goes out of the park); and doesnt Mashrafe know it. He does! So, Shehzad can only loft it into the hands of long-on. Gone!... WAIT! It is the Great Mashrafe Mortaza! He will not leave Shehzad alone. He will first make Shehzad dance to his own tunes and then go for the kill. So, he purposefully bowls a NO BALL!! .... SMART!!! Second Ball_version_2: The Hoicker Afridi on strike. The thing with Afridi is, before coming to bat he chooses a side-- On or Off. Like he chose the on side in that Asia Cup match and slogged the first ball from Shakib Al Hasan to the cow corner. This time he had hit Shakib to the off side in the first ball. So, average peoples common sense would be to look for a leg stump full ball or a yorker. But, hey! Even Afridi could have been thinking that being only average. The lion hearted Mashrafe is at again. He outhinks Afridi by a good two feet and bowls it wide of the off stump, just short of a yorker (even yorkers are too average and mainstream and predictable). Afridi swings it like a maverick and somehow just manages a 6. Third Ball: Now that Afridi being EXTREMELY lucky has hit a 6, he will think that Mashrafe will hit him with a different ball this time. So, Mashrafe AGAIN outfoxes him and just does an action replay. Afridi to everybodys surprise manages to hit it again in the same area in the air! The 21 year old kid- Anamul plucks it out of the thin air, but cant keep his balance and falls over. Pathetic!! As a 21 year old you should always know where the boundary is, specially when the most experienced pacer in your team is out there outfoxing those average batsmen. So, a LUCKY 6 this time. So close! Fourth Ball: What does the Maestro, the Lion Hearted Mashrafe do now? Being the utmost symbol of professionalism, he bowls a jaw dropping, a brilliant wide of the off stump bouncer(with the third man up) . He bangs it hard on the pitch. Afridi with Average brain thinks that it would be a wide. But, hey! It is the Great Mashrafe at work! It only raises as much as waist height. DOT BALL! What Genius Bowling!! Fifth Ball: You have beaten the batsman with a brilliantly bowled half tracker. So, you give the batsman some breathing space and bowl a length ball at the penultimate delivery of the penultimate over of the innings. The batsman can only take a single. Poor batting! Lion Hearted bowling! Sixth Ball: Well, all good things come to end, so does the Lion Hearted Mashrafes brilliant spell in this match. The final ball it is. The third man is up in the circle. So, again an average bowler will try to keep it in the stumps. But, Mashrafe, being the Exceptional bowler he is, bowls an exceptional wide of the off stump full delivery. Shehzad only somehow manages some bat on it and gets it past the inner ring fielders. Only a boundary! So, only 24 runs coming from the experienced and Lion Hearted Mashrafes over. BUT, DO NOT judge him by the numbers. Statistics are for fools. It is the effort that counts. P.S. The 24 year old and ugly Al Amin bowls the final over and gives away 10 runs(4 of them were from a huge edge). But, hey! He didnt show the intent and effort that the Great Mashrafe showed, did he? #lionHearted #mashrafeTheMan
