The person in the mirror maybe the source of your pain! In Genesis 3 the fall of man occurs, Adam and Eve commit genocidal suicide on the entire human race including themselves. In Genesis 4, comes the next sin mentioned in the Bible...........................Cain kills Abel. The sin of Adam and Eve had found its way right down the bloodline to the next generation. God deals with us justly and we cannot sin as we want and not expect punishment. Whats very amazing today is that I hear a lot of people talk about the struggles in their lives, tribulations as they call it, but they claim to not know where its coming from as if the devil is attacking them. I look at my own life and the punishment Ive had to take for my wrong decisions and sin and I think to myself: Is pride really that great today? Has pride blinded people so greatly that people cant even see that the person in the mirror is the cause of their own pain? Our lives, our actions, what we say or dont do, are never out of the sight of God, no matter if no one sees us or not. Whenever things tend to go wrong in life, first look at the person in the mirror because most times the problem starts there. For those of you who understand discipleship, the problem doesnt have to start with you at all, but to be accountable I believe most disciples would still first look at themselves even if the trouble is just part of Gods will for their lives. Hebrews 12:5-6 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
