The planets, stars, sun, and moon were in perfect alignment yesterday. Even the regulars mentioned there was something special about the track yesterday that made it stand above other great weekends...several mentioning that it actually seemed tacky. I knew something was up when I was ripping it in the morning. I can only thank the efforts of our track crew. Huge thanks to Billy Martin and Jon Jon. Definitely give those guys your thanks because truth is, I just rip, water, and observe. They are the real talent! Billy wasnt even there this weekend and yet all his prep work sealing the track and regrading sections made everything go better this weekend. Big thanks to Mark Czysz for coaching Jon Jon too. After 10 years, Marks learned a thing or two and can give insight that I just dont have. As a result, Jon Jon completely tore down and rebuilt 5 jump faces. It made a huge difference versus just trying to cobble a face back together. It is sort of like a Rubics Cube...you have it almost where it needs to be so you arent ready to twist it into chaos to finally get it where it ultimately needs to be. Sometimes you have to destroy your previous efforts to craft a masterpiece. I am already looking forward to being there again this coming weekend!!! It is the best feeling when things just go right and knowing so many riders are appreciative of the efforts.
