The planning and preparation to make next years baseball season a Home Run is underway. The BOD has scored and closed the 2013 year and will start winter training for the 2014 season. As most know, it takes a lot of teamwork, planning, and execution to move runners over or to turn double plays and it starts now in the off season. Our first order of business is the nomination and election of BOD officers. We currently have five BOD positions (President, Vice President, Treasury, Secretary, and Player Agent) open for nominations and we will take nominations thru Tuesday, Nov 12th. The election will be held during the tentively scheduled meeting on Thursday, Dec 5th at the Cheat Lake Library. You can self-nominate. Send the nominations to our current Secretary, Desiree Poach, at dpichard10@hotmail. If you dont want the responsibilities these positions hold, but do want to be on the roster, there are other voluntary positions available for the upcoming season. League Commisioners, coaches, fundraising, sponsorship, Umpires, snackbar, field maintenance and prep, and other positions are being fielded right now. Year to year, as our childern grow and move through the leagues, we do lose the older players and parents in these roster spots. Therefore, we are always looking for parents with Shetland or Pinto players to step up and contribute so that they can help out for the next few seasons. The league could retire 2 of 5 BOD members next year alone, therefore, this year is a great time to be a rookie and get CLBA experience for the future. Additionally, we are an open organization. Please feel free to attend our meetings to hear the discussions or to participate. Topics are wide ranging from finances, scheduling, rules, training drills, and, our favorite topic, baseball.
