The points mentioned in this episode(s) are the exact reason why I couldnt continue to play The Matrix Online much after the beta phase. It wasnt just that the voice acting was terrible. But also because it was the same old quests over and over again. World of Warcraft, while Jammie and I enjoyed playing that together for a time, became the same way. It became just a grind and the quests didnt really offer anything new. And the more Blizzard added to the game the more the same it got. My hope is that Star Citizen breaks this trend and makes the Persistent Universe (or PU) interesting, engaging, and organic. Sure there will be the standard escort or kill missions but making the lore in the game interesting as reading a book that engages you and makes you think. This is going to be a little tangent but I want to explain what I mean by games that make you think. Im not necessarily talking about critical thinking or solving puzzles, although that is important too. Im talking about games that impact your thoughts and emotions. For those that havent played it I suggest playing Bioshock Infinte all the way to the end. I never played the first two Bioshock games (although I plan to eventually) but I didnt find it necessary to get a lot out of Infinite. I stayed up really late one night getting to the end because like a good movie or book I couldnt stop. I had to know. I had to know what it all meant. And even after I finished the game I didnt have all the answers. It made me think even after the game was over and made me consider things I never had before (like reading one of Glenn Becks books). I Even sitting here at Meads Corner typing this up has me going back and thinking about it again. Thinking about my beliefs and why I believe in them. To me that is a mark of a great game. There are plenty of FPS/shooters out there that are simply fun to play like watching the next Marvel movie, sure. But creating a lore/experience/story that causes me to stop and reflect is what really makes this art form enjoyable and stand out. Just like staring at a painting and trying to convey what the artist was communicating through oils. https://youtube/watch?v=otAkP5VjIv8
