The principal reason Im voting yes; its a vote for democracy. Its a chance for Scotland to have a representative government elected by the people. The fact is that the current form of UK democracy is neither fair nor democratic and it has created a system that is chiefly concerned with is own continued existence. I would vote to keep the union together in a second if I truly believed that meaningful reform could be made to the Westminster system but in my view this is impossible. No human organisation has ever been dedicated to minimizing its own activities and power has become concentrated in the hands of the very few who are incapable of instituting reform because they are the product of that system. I would dearly love to see change for the whole UK but this is a power that we do not have. We do however have the power to effect change for the country we live in and this is the power I will be exercising on the 18th of September. I invite you to join me.
