The prophetic voice and ministry is still relevant for the church today along with the other ministry gifts the Apostle Paul mention in Ephesians 4: 11-13 and Paul speaking about our Lord writes ) 11- and He Himslef gave some to be apostles , and some prophets , and some evangelists and some pastors and teachers 12- for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry , for the edifying of the body of Christ 13- till we all come into the unity of the faith , and of the knowledge of the Son Of God to the perfect or mature man , to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ . If you notice the grammer of these functions are small letters and that should address those who seek these functions as title . I dont thing that The Lord meant these five fold ministry gifts should be men and women as titles , because the functioning properties of these gift and there working are relevant for the church for the equipping of the saints . These function can be evident in and individual or a group of people in the church . Too many people seek titles in these gifting which doesnt line up with these scriptures . Titles dont edify the body but working functions do . There is no greater disappointment to me as a leader with apostolic prophetic functions in my life to see those who seek titles and dont have or dont have functioning evidence in there ministries lead congregations without allowing and seeking out people in there congregations for what these gifts to functions to work as they should in the body . Training people and equipping people for ministry and seeing them mature is the greatest thing a leader can see happening in people . Ill take the function over the title any day !!!
