The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings (Proverbs 1:1-6.) Too many people start off Gods word reading the introduction God Himself provides and skip over it in their mind to get to the meat. Thats very poor educational process. This is a series of lessons, and a good lesson begins with what will be covered AND WHY. What does the teacher expect to get out of this? What does the teacher expect the student to learn AND expect the student to do because of what she or he has learned? Okay, folks skip over this because knowing these first 6 verses makes them responsible and humans first delusion is not knowing = not responsible. Too late! To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding = to know the truth and how to apply the truth in ones own choices. Wisdom is doing the right thing FOR THE RIGHT REASON. Many people are nice . . . because they dont want to be arrested. Be nice because God says so. Instruction = willingness to learn. Americans are especially likely make like theyre the teacher while remaining painfully ignorant. Only by remaining willing to learn can one, perceive the words of understanding and even receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity. Note the last one: equity. To know how things equal out is the hardest of all judgments. For example, God says, Life for life. Man says, Oh, pobre peposito, we wont kill you, you sad, sorry murderer. Then he kills again and we wonder what happened. To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. The simple are ignorant. God doesnt want us to be complex; God wants us to be WISE. The simple are merely taken advantage of, easily duped by those selling their own philosophies for $$ and excuses. The wise know Gods truth, and no one can take that from them. Thus, the #1 rule in all education: A wise man will hear, and will increase learning. A fool will start talking, tell what he or she thinks, and otherwise try to drown out the one trying to increase learning. Ever see a fool or ignorant (especially on the road)? That person merely refused to listen and now is STILL ignorant. This odesnt necessarily say agree. It says hear. And a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels. Those who wish to understand, will. Those who dont like being contradicted, wont. To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. But if one wont learn, is one wont listen, one wont understand anything else God says, which is why the world is glutted with fake religions and cults purporting to be Christian but actually being either pagan or gnostic. Each of them began with someone who wouldnt hear, and therefore couldnt understand the words of the wise. Thus, their saying remain dark. Dont understand something in the Bible? Dont close the Bible; close your eyes, bow your head, and ask God to teach (after all, He wrote it.) Then open your eyes and read again.
