The reason why I love making low budget, no budget, micro budget films is the creative freedom , cos the minute someone writes you a cheque, and the more substantial the cheque, the less control you have over your finished film.- Edward Burns #Actor/#indieFilmMaker #filmMaking #IndependentFilmMaking This happens in the studio system too when directors dont have final cut over their film, and have to deal with suits micro-managing their shoot, with hundreds of Memos. They want to protect their $20, $30, $80m investment. Other than Chris Nolan, Tarantino , and some of the titans(Marty,Steven,Cameron) who are left to do their thing, most directors have limited creative freedom and are subject to the whim of suits. Same happens here, where Alaba big boys can cut you a cheque, but you have to cast exactly who they want , regardless of if u dont think they fit the role. So maybe sometimes that big cheque and huge budget is not the answer, especially if you want to maintain your vision and artistic integrity. What do you think?
