The recent accusations and counter attacks hurled against each other by top government officials indicates power struggle inside the party which has ruled this Country for nearly three decades. What Ugandans are interested in is peace, tranquility and most importantly peaceful transition of power from one head of state to another. The political bickering by top government wigs does not serve to help us Ugandans but rather to enrich their egoistic ambitions. We have never had peaceful transition of power since Independence and our Country has gone through a period of political turbulence (1962-1986). We do not want to be held hostages of the past. Those in power should help us and leave in peace to pave way for a peaceful future. What we want is sustainable peace but this seems uncertain as nobody can tell when power will change hands.
