The recent political re-alignment going on in my state, Oyo, is - TopicsExpress

The recent political re-alignment going on in my state, Oyo, is interesting. As alleged, Oloye Teslim Folarin has manipulated the states PDP primary, using his Wadata power, to fetch himself the guber ticket on the partys platform. Now, light weight politicians, whose credentials only appeal to caucus members, and not the unpartisan Oyo citizens, are those left with the tagged Mr Jagba. In reaction to the broad-day robbery, Mr. Akala, a former Governor of the State, who was sent packing by the present Governor, Abiola Ajumobi, is resharpening his political teeth, aiming to give the Agodi meat another bite, may be, this will now cut through. If not for prominence that is always given to public treasury robbers in our own society, Akala should not have summoned the courage of representing himself for public contest again, not to talk of having a fair volume of supporters -the victims of stomach infrastructure, not to talk of being given Labour partys guber ticket. We will be expecting the wonder he will perform that he failed to perform when he was in office. We have left the page of administrative financial reckless, Oyo state people will never be ruled by intellectually-emptied personality that he characterises, again. Another PDP contestant, Engr. Seyi Makinde has also left for SDP. He was the only one I respect his astuteness, if not for his PDP factor. Yes, PDP under Jonathan is a further-damaged brand. With Jonathans unprecendeted record of ineptitudeness, I will never risk a sympathy for an individual that will indirectly lead to a vote for Jonathan. Even when I have the feeling, that a Seyi with PDP structure, if elected, might be better than Ajumobi, I would rather deal with Ajumobis hydraheadedness in its few areas than allow myself to be instrumental to Jonathan reelection, by supporting Seyi Makinde. It is as complex as that, duly much connected than assumed. Now that Seyi Makinde has left for SDP, I wish him goodluck. If I were him, I would rather remain in PDP and continue fighting, and at worst support the incumbent, while I still maintain with PDP. I do not see a Seyi Makinde that has a strength to pull a gubernatorial string, as a lone fighter, when he has not been tested in any political office before. All the same, I wish him good luck. At least, with this shot, Seyi Makinde would be able to have an accurate assesment of his political weight. High Chief Rasheed Ladoja is giving the guber another shot, and undoubtedly, the last shot. That Accord revolves round him and only him is the only reason I found his leadership style improper. He would have been in the same bracket with Bola Tinubu if he is known with any recruitment mechanism and sucession plan. I only see him as a desperate politician who is finding his way to pack the largessse that was unable to be packed due to his crisis-laden administration. Ajumobi is our governor till 2019. His record, not the best on global standard, has surpassed that of his precedessors -Lam Adesina, Akala and Ladoja. We do not need a reckless Akala, we are not voting for a revengeful Ladoja. Seyi Makinde, we would love to have you in APC, that is where people like you belong.
