The ridge of high pressure is moving east of East Texas and winds are returning from the south. Temperatures rose to the mid 80s this afternoon which is about 5 degrees above the normal highs for late April. A cold front will slide into the area from the west Thursday and bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the afternoon. Winds will be south 10 to 15 gusting to 20 mph. The front will move to the northeast as a warm front Friday giving us mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s Friday and Saturday. A strong upper level low and its associated cold front will cross Texas Sunday and Monday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely ahead of the front, and some storms could be severe. It will be cooler by Tuesday with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s Tuesday and Wednesday. Lows Wednesday morning will be near 50 degrees.
