The rundown on transcendental meditation, I like his analogy of the ocean its a good way of explaining it. This technique is the stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression & high blood pressure killer. He explains why anxiety happens (cortisol & the adrenal gland) he also explains how it helps regulate chemicals in the brain (serotonin, prolactin and more). It affects the petuitary gland (stress/growth/temp.reg./water), the amigdala (memory/decision making/emotional reaction), the hippocampus (regulates new memories) parts of the brain and it also affects the corpus callosum which transmits information between the hemispheres, the analytical and creative sides of the brain. These parts of the brain are shown on the eye of horus (except the amigdala) when you line it up with a cross section of the brain. You also find it occulted in many other ancient texts and art emphasizing the importance of these parts of the brain.
