Update: Im writing this on my iPhone, so it wont be as complete as I would have liked. First I thank God for making everything possible. I thank my family and all my friends for all the support, God bless you. Here we go for now. The plane from USA to Nairobi and the drive from Nairobi to Metipso went very well. The drive from Kirotshe to Metipso was also smooth. A few surprises included high transport fares and buying all the household items. Other than that, everything went well. Training has been good the last 3 days were we ran almost 30 miles. The chest is burning but we will get used to this altitude soon. The girls have been impressive as I have struggled along side them through these first runs. We have no running water and depend on rain for most of the water we use. The water is freezing and taking a bath with it has been a challenge. Everything is limited here especially food. Its freezing in early mornings and at night...but not like USA winter. Tomorrow we are heading to eldama to buy some warmer clothes for the group and also items we need that are not here. The next 5months will be challenging but I believe we will be better runners by far. ON THE OTHER SIDE, A 9 YEARS OLD GIRL RAN 8K IN 38 MINUTES TODAY IN KIROTSHE FINISHING 3rd OVERALL ON THE WOMEN SIDE. The pictures below was us getting water from a nearby water hole about 1000m away from the camp. The water is the result of rain and water coming from underground. Im almost out of power so more to come later. Keep praying for us. projectkirotshe.org
