The sad story of Autumn and Willow- Rescued, and now in the good - TopicsExpress

The sad story of Autumn and Willow- Rescued, and now in the good hands of our staff at AHS Newark. When AHS staffers received a call about dogs kept in an abandoned house, they immediately went to the property on South 10th Street in Newark. When they arrived, they went through the empty house until they got to the third floor. There they found the skeletal figures of two dogs that someone left there without food or water for an interminable length of time. One pathetic pit mix was in a cage and the other loose by the window. The emaciated dog was so terrified, she was ready to jump out the third floor window to her death. Asst. Director Scott Crawford moved slowly to secure her. Both dogs were brought back to the AHS Newark shelter where the first thing they were given was bowls of water. Sadly, one dog appears to have had a litter and both have weathered abuse and neglect. They are traumatized, confused and quietly accept our offerings of food, water and soothing words of comfort. Our staff sees such neglected orphans arrive all too often and make an effort to let these two newcomers feel comforted. We have named them Autumn and Willow and we are hoping to make a difference in their lives for that is the reason we are here. This is where your donation dollars help us to help them. Our hearts break for every sad story in which an animal has been so badly abused and neglected. We hope that you will donate to their care.via our website ahscares.org.
