The saying goes....give honor to whom honor is due....so Ill - TopicsExpress

The saying goes....give honor to whom honor is due....so Ill probably get in a little trouble for this, but he can get onto me at a later date. I had the privilege of standing in front of the church this morning, after worshipping The One who deserves all honor and praise, and bestowed some honor on a certain young man. I appreciate Pastor Edge for giving me the opportunity to do so. I probably said/ shared too much---as usual---but I really felt like John Hensley deserved it. To paraphrase it for all of my FB friends....Ill make it simple. John has grown up, and spent his entire life at Bethel Church. Hes grown into a leader of many, taking responsibility for our Worship experience, as well as seeking out many different ways to make our church more excellent and effective in reaching those that are lost. A man with strong faith and strong convictions. So very proud that I had the opportunity to minister to him as a youngster, and then minister with him as a man. I did leave a little something out today, as I spoke, though....I really didnt speak about his other/ better half....One of the first opportunities I got to spend time with Ashleigh-Brooke Hensley....I had pulled up on the property at Lake Benson, for summer camp, just in time to see a young lady pushing and pulling a goat tosafety, or just getting it out of the eyes of the authorities, and I couldnt figure out...who is that little country girl, over there, wrestling with that goat??....about the time the question came out of my mouth, I answered my own question....it was AB. I knew right then and there that John had a keeper. You see, John and his cohorts had a little something to do with the arrival of that goat. Ha!!! And AB was taking care of it. I did not mean to leave her out of my comments today, but did want to add this....she has stood beside him through car accidents, health scares, and anything in between. She took on the responsibility of starting/ leading a whole new phase of kids ministry at our church, all the while, raising two little boys. Whew!! Together, they have been my friends, and together they have done a lot in ministry for others. New seasons in life, bring about new things, and Gods blessings are sure and true. Thats why sometimes you should stop and....give honor to whom honor is due.
