The screwed up baby that is Free Snake Poems About Snakes. Lets Do This. came in second for Best Literary event in the Pittsburgh City Papers Best of Pittsburgh (!!) Im super duper proud of snakes. Rachael Deacon, LobstersandPenguins WF, Nina Sauer, Julie HM, and I threw this awesome/stupid event with a $0 budget, a seriously punk/DIY aesthetic, no big name artist connected to the event, and a weird amount of enthusiasm, and apparently that went over really really well. There were 200+ people who came through the event when we held it this past March, a 60+ page book of snakepoems, and more foods and drinks and other donations than we had table space for. Since yall loved us enough to vote us the best home-grown literary event in the city (since we were only beat out by The Moth, which is a national organization with a budget and stuff), were doing it again and hoping you will join in the anarchy.
