The season has been full of many ups and downs. Three games into the season the team was able to steal the #1 spot, exceeding all expectations. From there managing to perform consistently to the end, with a brief episode of 3 losses and 1 draw whilst star goalkeeper, Cooper Ingram, was recovering from appendicitis. The team was well set up, entering the semi finals at third place with a fixture against Oakhill. After a tough game against the clear favourites SACS managed to come out on top with a 2-1 score in what was likely the most jubilant moment in many of the players school football careers. Apart from our team coach (Laki) and manager (Andrew Dymock) most people involved with the ISA did not believe SACS would be able to make the grand finals. However, despite all odds we did with the support of an incredible crowd. The boys knew there was a tough game ahead of them despite beating St Pats 3-2, two weeks prior to the clash. Unfortunately, in the end we werent able to pull through and lost 2-1. Our final position in the ISA division 1 is second place with 7 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses. The whole team is grateful for all the people that made this happen. With special mentions to our coach, manager, school, parents and especially to all those who turned up at the grand finals. The spirit and energy you guys brought was phenomenal. Those of us who are in year 12, we were immensely proud to be able to represent St Andrews one last time on the sporting field. For all of us it has been an incredible part of our time at SACS. We wish the best of luck to the teams in the coming years, hopefully we will get the opportunity to return and cheer for you from the sidelines.
