The situation in Ferguson is great example of emotions driving - TopicsExpress

The situation in Ferguson is great example of emotions driving opinions. All over the country people are protesting, using the hands up dont shoot line from the original version of the shooting. Despite the fact that even the federal investigation revealed Michael Brown never raised his hands. This same falsehood is repeated by those in the media and even politicians. Why? Obviously its agenda driven but why perpetuate the lie? Another misrepresentation is the constant referencing of Brown as a boy, I would imagine that if anyone would have called him that he wouldnt have taken it very kindly. In the eyes of the law he was a man and if it fit the narrative being supported by those pushing it he certainly would be called a man. This is a prime example of why we need to gather our information from various sources and make our own decisions. There was a time in this country when the media was the fourth pillar, they kept the other three in check. Politicians feared and respected these organizations, now they are merely an extension of government. The Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 prevented the US government from sponsoring propaganda inside the CONUS. Of course the NDAA changed that. Remember, everything we hear in the media is propaganda. Both the left and the right engage in it, no one, no one simply reports the news today. Gone are the days of true reporters, we live in a time of pundits.
