The sizzling days of summer will soon be upon us. A call that we frequently respond to is dogs in hot cars. While no one intentionally leaves their dog to suffer in the heat of a hot car, it can happen so quickly that even well intentioned dog owners can find themselves exposing their pets to the potential for a tragic accident to happen. I think we sometimes forget that just because we enjoy an activity, doesn’t mean our dogs do too. Unless we are heading to a dog friendly beach, our dogs will be safer and probably happier during the summer heat, splayed out under their favorite shade tree with their favorite toys and a cool bowl of water. Which would you prefer?
