The son of a slain NYPD officer will be given a full ride by Bowdoin College, the school announced on Monday. Rafael Ramos, 40, was one of two NYPD officers killed in their squad car on Saturday by a man who then killed himself. His son, Justin Ramos, is currently a sophomore at Bowdoin. Ramos had already been offered a full-tuition scholarship by the New York Yankees Silver Shield Foundation, but the college announced that it had decided to foot the bill on its own. “Bowdoin works to meet the full need of admitted students for all four years,” said school spokesman Scott Hood. “Justin’s circumstances have obviously changed, so the college will make sure he is able to continue his education here when he is ready to return. We appreciate the offer from the Yankees’ organization, but we have it covered.” Ramos’s younger brother, who is still in middle school, has also been offered a scholarship from the Yankees. dailycaller/2014/12/22/bowdoin-college-gives-full-ride-to-son-of-slain-officer/#.VJntMr8kPP4.gmail
