The students at Stambaugh will re-ceive a special lesson this week in our Anti-Bullying Campaign. An IMAX experience will be provided to our students in the gym at an assembly. The students will learn to identify bullying, attempt to resolve the conflict, and how to report their need for help. Assemblies will take place in the gym based on the times below. Parents, you are invited to attend any oone of the ses-sions listed. K-2 9:30 – 10:00 am 3-4 10:10 – 10:40 am 5-6 2:00 - 2:30 pm 7-8 2:40 – 3:10 pm Breakfast for Students Stambaugh provides a school breakfast for children each day of school from 8:30-9:15 AM. Students take the meal to their class-rooms and have their breakfast with class-mates and their teach-er. The daily price for breakfast is $1.40. For those families who qualify for reduced meals, the breakfast has a cost of $.30 per meal. Please call the office if you have any questions about the breakfast meal. Anti-Bullying Campaign 2012-2013 Annual Education Report Stambaugh Charter Academy’s Annual Ed-ucation Report for -2013 is complete. Copies are available in the main office or you may view the report at nhaschools/schools/stambaugh/ . Click on the Annual Education Report and you will be directed to the newest report. Mock Test 2 Students in grades 3-8 will take a practice OAA test November 12-22 during the school day. Special points of interest: Board Meets November 12th, 5:00 p.m. at Stam-baugh in the Teacher Workroom Thanksgiving Vacation– November 27-29. No school for students or staff. In an effort to appreci-ate all things in life, a food drive took place in October and November. Donations of dry food items and canned goods were given to Mahoning Valley Rescue Mission. A class on each floor who made the most number of do-nations will receive a pizza party in the afternoon of No-vember 8th. Tutoring at Stambaugh Tutoring in reading and math takes place three days a week at school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thurs-day from 8:30-9:15 am. If your child needs assistance or would like just a bit more support to bring up their grades, stop by the tutoring center. Talk to your child’s teacher to get more information about the learning op-portunity. RttT Support for Students A portion of the Race to the Top is used to help prepare your children for test taking skills and the transition to common core standards this year. Ask your teachers if you would like more infor-mation about the added expectations for students. NHA volunteer. The first grade clas-ses will be celebrating a Friendship Soup at the end of the day on November 16th. The kindergarten classes will be doing several activities throughout the day using the themes Stone Soup. K-1 Students Plan a Celebra-tion of Gratitude Mrs. Byus and her K-1 faculty are planning a special event for the students and their parents on November 26th in honor of the Moral Focus Gratitude Feast of Thanks Students in grades 6-8 will be sending invitations for you to attend a celebration of grati-tude November 22nd from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. The program centered on the moral focus theme of gratitude. Thanksgiving Celebration Grades 2-5 are planning a full meal that includes a serv-ing of turkey on Wednesday, November 26th. If you would like to help serve our children, contact your child’s teacher to theme. Invitations will be sent to families in the near future. Plan to attend. Parent Teacher Conferences take place , Wednesday and Thursday, November 6-7 from 430-7:00 pm. Our goal is to meet with every family to discuss the progress of your child. A Grade 3 Reading Guarantee informa-tional will take place in room 109. Take the opportunity to re-view the reading plan and un-derstand the reading expecta-tion for K-3 children.
