The sun was out and the wind had calmed today for our trip! The whales were some distance off the island but we watched five individuals in total today. We first saw Tether and Flame who were still travelling together (we last saw them together the 16th). We then watched Badge and Vector. They were travelling quietly until Triomphe tried to join their group, then things got interesting! The two older whales did not seem to want the company of the juvenile: both were trumpeting loudly and Badge was snaking his tail around, hanging upside down underwater, and fluking very high and frequently. They were all three still together when we left them.
