The sweetest old lady came into my office today and asked if I was related to a Mario Quintanilla who just passed away a few weeks. She came in to ask if I were related to him because she took care of him a bit before he died. She had some linens and other possessions of his that she would like to return to his family. I informed her that I was not related to him. She then went on to ask the origins of my name and the background of hyphened last names in the Latin culture. I then explained to her that sometimes in Latin cultures the baby will take both the mother and the fathers last names and hyphen them. It was one of the strangest and most unexpected, yet sweetest conversations. Bless you, old lady. Whoever you are. Bless you :)
