The theme throughout my meditations this evening have been to accept humiliation and sorrows as a grace that allows us to share in the sufferings and difficulties of mankind. This is a Cross we should embrace joyfully for it allows us to feel the pain of the marginalized in our society that we have a tendency to overlook, because we do not live like they do. For you see, the way of sorrows when walked with Jesus, the Man of Sorrows, is the path He keeps sacred and secret for those of us who desire to do all for Him and are willing to sacrifice all for Him just as His servant Saint Paul did. For you see, it is when we count all things as lost for Him, do we obtain all that He and our Heavenly Father has waiting for us at the end of the trial. As Saint Catherine of Siena wrote, "God gives us trials (no matter what the source) and poverty to lead us to true and perfect patience, and so that we may realize how fickle and unreliable this world is...For every hardship we endure for love of God is rewarded."
