The third photo was actually taken three years later in September 1951: my first day of Second Grade at brand-new Holy Redeemer, and my sister Kathys first day of Kindergarten there. (I went to Kindergarten at Kensington Elementary.) My sister Connie, in the middle, would have the house to herself at least half the day for another year, when she would enter Kindergarten at Holy Redeemer. My excuse for including this photo in my triptych documentation of early Ambler Drive is the look across the street. The two houses belong to the Srocas and the Storys (who were among the very first to move in after the street was opened). The 49 Chevy is lime-green, hence its nickname, the Green Hornet. Note the graceful stripling maples, planted only a few months earlier.
