The tragedy of the police execution of 18 year old Michael Brown of Ferguson Missouri is examined. Almost 60 years ago the Black Panther Party for Self Defense came into existence in Oakland,CA to address this very issue of racist Police attacking black youth. The atrocities against our youth Africans in the West has existed unabated since that first slave owner picked up his axe to dismember, castrate, behead, mutilate and lynch those who dared raise their head in defiance of the powers that be. In the post slavery era goon squads such as the KKK effectively, terrorized blacks out of their promised 40 acres and a mule precipitating on the one hand the mass migrations north, into segregated inner city enclaves(Ghettos) ...It was effectively the role of the police to contain the African populations on their side of the tracks. When Garvyites like the father of Malcolm X dared to raise their heads to assert their rights they would be summarily executed, their mutilated bodies thrown across rail tracks, their houses burned to the ground and their children scattered to the winds in foster homes (Malcolms mother actually went insane and died in an asylum). And so as the case of young Emmett Till ushered in the era of the civil rights with his lynching in 1955, the powers that be from FBI to your local county sheriff to the judicial institutions at various levels worked hand in glove with segregationists to deny blacks rights enshrined in the US constitution. Those gains that accrued from the struggle were gradually being whittled away. Hence almost 70 years after the Supreme court decision to desegregate schools in Brown V The School Board, American schools by and large remain segregated, Billions have poured into the reversal of Affirmative Action by Conservative PACs collaborating with a conservative Supreme Court to throw out Affirmative action Policies in admissions to, in particular, professional schools such as the University of Michigan Law School, University of Chicago Law, University of Texas Law ... That was in the Post Civil Rights era today in what is dubbed as the Post Racial Era with the election of Obama, we have choke hold killings in New Jersey, and the murder of Trayvon Martin by a security guard and the the killing of Mike Brown with 10 bullets, two of them to the head..this was an execution.
