The trees had a peevish air , was it not unfair That while they were tethered to their roots The clouds cruised along merrily with not a care Unburdened, untethered, and free no ,it was not fair Turning green with envy was no fun something had to be done How long would they remain rooted while hidden in their foliage the owls merrily hooted In a temper vile they rustled, and muttered and hurled Their leaves invective like onto the ground Up above the blue sky frowned its mood plunged into a despair dark Oh hark With the strong wind they confabulated and conspired And hatched a storm The leaves swirled and whirled like tormented genies A hushed silence followed The trees, shook, twitched and jiggled And in a burst of sudden vehemence fell to the ground, untethered, unburdened and uprooted. The malicious storm chortled and giggled. That the trees could no longer wriggle back to their roots .Now that they were uprooted. .Up above the clouds still cruised along without a care Oblivious to the trees whose dream was now a nightmare.
