The true nature of the (in my opinion) foolish ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was to spread awareness, but I find myself still very unaware of what ALS really is. Therefore, I thank Jon Francis and Nicole Moore for their nominations, and offer my own modifications.I will instead be spreading true fact-based awareness, and also have made a donation to ALS, which I will not screenshot it to prove to my facebook friends, nor will I be dumping cold water on my head in the middle of a hot summer to avoid financially funding a charity (?) ALS in laymans terms = Mental faculties fully intact in a non-functioning body. ALS victims suffer gradual loss of all movement control. Arms, legs, mouth, chest. Imagine trying to breathe, trying to get your chest to take a deep breath, but you cannot. Fully cognizant, body useless. 2. ALS = Lou Gehrigs Disease. They are the same disease. 3. ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Amyotrophic = no muscle nourishment = muscle cells die Lateral = honestly I dont understand myself. I think, lats are flat Sclerosis = abnormal hardening of body tissue 4. There is no cure or treatment to halt or reverse ALS.
