The under 14`s recent winning sequence was brought to an end by a very good Mayo Gaels side who defeated the Moy men in an exciting well contested encounter played in Foxford last Thursday evening. Mayo Gaels emerged victorious on a scoreline of 7-11[32] to 4-17 [29] in a high scoring game where both sets of forward lines were in a rich vein of scoring form. Bohola Moy Davitts to their credit battled right to the end and showed plenty of spirit and will to win and came up against a very good Mayo Gaels squad who were at the top of their form and they lost little or nothing in defeat and can be proud of their overall effort on the night. However some of the ref`s decision making was baffling most notably when the hosts were denied a clear cut penalty near the end which proved costly. In an outstanding team display there were special performances from the likes of Colm Burke, Cormac Turnbull, Lochlain Maloney, Jamie McHugh, Lorcan Towey and Cillian O`Brien.
