The upkeep of this old farm and all the land sometimes resembles the juggling act at the circus...and what a circus it can be. Last night was no different. Dinner was not quite ready and Steve was delighted to finally crank up the tractor for some much needed mowing. The grass was so tall, that if a Condemned Property sign had been placed, no one could have seen it. So, as I finished supper, Steve gave me a quick kiss and off he went, straw hat on his head and a smile on his face. He had hardly turned onto the road and reached the hill when the storm hit. It was pouring rain, Steve was on the tractor , chicken was frying, Maggie was doing the 2-step in front of the stove hoping for fall-outs from the frying pan and the cats were hungry. As any country folk will tell you, thats sometimes the way life is and you just keep on keeping on. You never know what the next minute may bring. But then, thats the way life is for all of us. The future, whether its the next hour, the next year or the next decade, is not known to us. Yet, we worry til our faces look like a rugged path up a mountain. We stress ourselves into heart attacks. We pace the floor until the sole of our shoes are worn slap out. If the storms of life dont do us in, then the worry of when they will hit will. Did you ever stop to think that when we say, I trust in God, we are mocking God if we worry? Worry and trust are not equal partners. Worry will kill us. Trusting in God will keep us alive-forever! If we believe that God is the one true living God. If we believe that He is the God that created the heavens and earth. If we believe that he is the God that sent His only Beloved Son for the redemption of our sins. Why do we worry? Ive lived long enough to experience life at its best and life at its worst. One thing this old gal has come to realize....there is absolutely nothing that God cant handle. No matter how big I think the problem is-God is bigger. No matter how much my cup seems to run over-Gods cup is fuller. If you worry-you worry because Satan wants you to doubt Gods ability. Its another one of Satans ways of deceiving you. Dont fall for Satans lies. Remember, Satan is mad at God for ousting him from heaven. Hes trying to get even with God and he will use whatever method he can-including you. Satan does not care about you. GOD LOVES YOU ENOUGH TO GIVE HIS SONS LIFE FOR YOU. Quit your worrying, TRUST GOD and LIVE! (9) If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, (10) Even there Your hand shall lead me. Psalm 139: 9, 10
