The versatility of the 1064 nm wavelength continues to demonstrate itself. Rare is the laser that has more than one primary indication, but the Nd:YAG wavelength now clearly has three distinct treatment applications, making it the laser of choice for permanent hair reduction for all skin types, leg vein removal, and skin tightening. In fact, with respect to skin tightening, the 1064 nm laser may even be the treatment modality of choice. It has numerous advantages over not only other lasers, but other devices as well, including the much publicized RF technology and the more recently introduced IR approach.
