The vigorous assertion that the Filipino youth is the most - TopicsExpress

The vigorous assertion that the Filipino youth is the most precious natural resource is often reiterated by almost everybody. Thus, the Philippine government, the only one in the world engage the youth in government affairs through the Sangguniang Kabataan or SK. Through SK, Filipino youth serves as vehicle for bringing forth the politics of principles and ideological parties – the underpinning of real democracy. The government, being a major institution that shapes and molds the youth, should spearhead in mobilizing the proper authorities in giving the proper direction, vision and guidance in enabling the youth to meet the requirements of leadership not only of future governance but of the youth’s present needs. Knowing fully well our commitment to the Filipino youth is ineluctably a commitment to the future of our country, thus through SK, we will be assured the effective and successful implementation of all government programs for the youth of the country. The edifice that was built by our forefathers has yet to be completed. The SK has to contribute its share in completing that revolutionary task left by the youth of Emilio Jacinto’s time. Every generation is called upon to fulfill its responsibility to the generation after it. Whenever the survival of the nation is at stake, it calls upon its finest sons and daughters, the best and the brightest of its youth to perform feats of heroism and greatness. SK is the very best avenue that the youth can perform its responsibility in building the nation. The central task of the Sangguniang Kabataan is to be the principal vehicle for the ideological reorientation of the Filipino youth. Thus, abolishing it would just deprive the rights of the youth to give their contributions towards a progressive nation. SK should not be subjected to abolition but rather reformation, reformation of its organization in order to ensure the sustainability of its worthwhile benefits in the society. SK contributes much in the holistic development of the youth, molding them at a very young age in leadership and managerial skills for the youth are deemed to be the successors of today’s leaders. If SK will be abolished, how will the youth sector be prepared in their gargantuan roles in the future? Nobody will be molded into next leaders but the youth. Hence, let’s give the youth the opportunity to face their course through their engagement in the Sangguniang Kabataan. No to SK abolition definitely! KRis ANn Delapeña Tortosa
