The world has lost a great woman. Rest is peace Hilda Donofrio. Dave and I will miss you greatly. 💞 HILDA DONOFRIO CO-FOUNDER OF FULL CHANNEL, INC. Donofrio, Hilda Viveiros widow of John Donofrio, the founder of Full Channel, Inc. died early Saturday in Florida at the age of 87. Together, the Donofrios were pioneers of cable television and telecommunications in Rhode Island. She was born in 1927 to Luis and Emelia Viveiros at her familys home on South Broadway in East Providence, R.I. The youngest of seven children, she and her siblings were raised by her mother after her fathers accidental death when Hilda was only four years old. In 1944 at the age of 17, she married John, weeks before he reported for service in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. Hilda was known for her sensitive and caring nature and was a talented seamstress. Additionally she taught homemaking, child care and sewing to girls in the local Seekonk 4-H chapter. Her daughters remember her creating exceptionally tailored outfits and prom dresses for all three of them. The Donofrios moved to Seekonk, Mass. before they moved to Palm City, Fla. in 1992. Through the years, the couple enjoyed traveling the world on many cruise ships, establishing many new friendships. Both were avid golfers. Assuming the position of chairwoman of Full Channel in 2004, Hilda carried on her husbands dream of providing telecommunications to Rhode Islands East Bay. Champions of fine music and the arts, the Donofrios supported classical music in Providence, Boston and in Rhode Islands East Bay. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Jane Maaia and her husband Atty. William Maaia of Rumford, Rosemary L. Pacheco and her husband Raymond Pacheco of Rehoboth, Mass. and Fort Myers Beach, Fla. and Valerie J. Daniels, of East Providence and Sarasota, Fla. as well as four grandsons, William G. Campos III, Patrick Daniels, Casey Daniels and Levi C. Maaia.
