The world through my lense Looking at the world from a different angle. Being blinded by life, and all that we are surrounded by can happen overnight. Once this mishap falls into place, we go through life with a shutter-like mind and eyes, seeing only half of what there is to see, appreciating only half of the beauty there is to appreciate, if we even see any of it at all. This is something I wish no one, for this is when you start to feel dead in-side and your soul becomes numb. This is the time that you need to drastically make a change to awaken your spirit, find a new breath in your soul and look at the world with eyes wide open. This can happen in life to any of us at any given time, but all the artistic ones, will know how this feels in your creativity. Once you feel as if there is not-hing more to see, not-hing more to draw inspiration from around you, you are in grave danger and a drastic measure of change is needed! Sometimes the smallest shifts in things you do, and the way you look at things can make the greatest change that you could never have imagined. I will once again point out the obvious since it truly are these small things that makes the worlds difference. Change in perspective: Once you change the angle that you are shooting from you will see things in a different light and you might just even see something new. Revisit the same place daily: Pick one spot and document how it changes daily Pick a specific lens: Instead of choosing a specific subject, choose a certain lens. Try a fixed lens such as a 50mm to really challenge yourself. Or to really challenge yourself, opt for a lens that creates certain effects. Take a daily self-portrait: Taking a portrait daily is a great way to document how you change over time, especially should you do this for a year. Pick a theme: Something that will always be around is a window frame or a door. Come up with a concept that speaks to you or is found in your surroundings and choose an exciting way to document it. Go on Photo walks: Dedicate at least one day in the month to a day like this. Do nothing else, take your camera or cameras and go for a walk, embracing everything beautiful and magical around you. Keep your eyes open and youll be surprised at the amount of beauty right at your doorstep! Also go somewhere you dont usually go to, a neighbours house, a museum, or a botanical garden or simply take a walk down town. See an art show or read an art magazine: Art shows and magazines are a great source of inspiration. Looking at other masters works can bring great inspiration. Listen to music: Music can sometime speak even more deeply to the soul than anything else in this world. Take time to just embrace the music and listen what it has to say to you.
