The wrap up from Sam Miranda Tour of the King Valley. Firstly, what a weekend! There is something for everyone. Wine, Gran Fondo, all grades for the men and the women. Cellar doors. Lots of them. So put it on the list for next year. We had riders across two races, NRS team and Womens C. The NRS girls did us proud. This morning Marissa Madden had a total bike failure and 10 minutes before the start was being shoved on and fitted to a rather nice looking S-Works Amira. So many thanks to Specialized Securitor for helping us out, we will be buying the coffee next time. Maz finished in the bunch today despite (or because of?) her new ride. Holly had a job and executed perfectly then left it all on the road. You never regret the what you do do, just what you dont do and Holly gave it everything. Unfortunately Steph had to pull out for health reasons but went on to prove her skills as chef, mechanic and driver. With the superstars making their way off the track and back from Europe the NRS is really heating up so the womens NRS team have done brilliantly in their second wildcard race. The nice thing about racing in the King Valley in the other grades is that you do the same distance as the NRS, just a bit slower. Sometimes. After a great start in the TT and a solid day in the road race the legs were not there for Rebecca Hay and I in the handicap today. The pace was best described as blistering. From the gun the 20 strong limit group averaged 45k for the first 25K, I am sure it was more than that but that was the point I bid adieu. Limit stayed away and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and a block headwind of the last 30k. This was seriously an amazing weekend, super well organised racing, picture perfect location and just a whole bunch of fun. I also fulfilled my life long ambition of an F1 style podium. As always - not possible without the support of our sponsors. We are so proud to be part of a club that, along with our sponsors supports racing at all levels. Thanks to Imogen for the race updates that we were all too busted to post and as always to Kelvin our super DS for his organisation, advice and amazing cooking. We had a co-pilot this time in Darren Pavey who served his number pinning and convoy driving apprenticeship
