Thelma Brown Cottage is a domestic violence refuge for women and their children. It consists of seven furnished two bedroom apartments that can accommodate women with up to six children each. Sadly, Thelma Brown Cottage can accommodate less than half of the women that request assistance as we simply don’t have sufficient accommodation or staff. Thelma Brown Cottage is a crisis service where women and their children can stay for up to three months. During their stay, women and their children are assisted in rebuilding their lives. Support is provided in the following ways: Assistance in finding suitable, stable accommodation in either public or private housing. Emotional support, counselling, psychological and psychiatric services. Transport. Legal and court support. Advice and information. Substance addiction. Domestic violence and relationships. Meals.
